The Bears-Packers Kickoff Time Changed. Apparently.

The Week 5 Bears-Packers game on Sunday, October 11, has been moved from its originally scheduled 4:25 PM ET kickoff to 1:00 PM ET. The change didn’t require moving any other games.

You might be wondering when the NFL announced this change. That’s a good question.

The Packers’ official website says the NFL announced it on Tuesday, September 29. And, technically, the change did appear on NFL.com that day. It was tucked into the site’s regular news roundup.

The change was not announced separately through NFL Communications, which is where you’d normally expect to find a schedule change like this.

For whatever reason, the NFL didn’t think the change warranted its own press release and just moved on. I have no idea why. Maybe some intern at NFL.com dropped the ball.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who missed the memo. As of today, FOX’s own NFL page still lists Bears-Packers at 4:25 PM ET. So this turned out to be a pretty easy schedule change to miss.

Regardless, I’ve now updated Football Weblog’s One Page Schedules to reflect the change. You can view the updated schedules by using the NFL Schedules button below or by selecting them from the site menu.
