How the NFL Schedule is Created

How the NFL Schedule is Created

I spend a lot of time each season formatting and condensing the NFL’s 272-game schedule to fit on an 8-½” x 11” sheet of paper, updating the schedules with the scores for each game, and revising the schedules whenever the NFL flexes a game to a new time slot — and a separate schedule is made for each U.S. time zone. The NFL schedule is a big part of Football Weblog. So, I was more than interested when I stumbled across the NFL Network’s video How is the NFL Schedule Created?

It turns out the video is as interesting and entertaining as I expected it to be. It’s a really cool behind-the-scenes look at all the hoops NFL personnel must jump through to bring us, the fans, the very best schedule iteration possible.

Since the One-Page Schedules are one of the more popular items on this website, I thought you pigskin aficionados might enjoy the video as well. If you haven’t watched it, I recommend you check it out.
