2015 Official NFL Record and Fact Book

The NFL does some incredible things for their fans.  When you’re as large and successful as the National Football League, you have some resources to throw around.  Earlier this year the NFL Communications Department published their annual Official NFL Record and Fact Book.  The stated purpose of the book is to support the news media in covering NFL games and teams, but it is an awesome tome for the avid football fan as well.

Interested in knowing each team’s win-loss record coming off a bye?  Turn to page 314.  Curious who are the youngest and oldest players in the league?  See page 305.  Want to learn how the NFL determines upcoming game schedules?  The formula can be found on page 16.  This book is filled with all sorts of individual and team stats, and a multitude of other interesting informational tidbits.  It’s great.

The NFL used to publish a hardcopy version of this book, but apparently, starting this year, it will only be available digitally.  It’s a little disappointing.  There’s nothing like paging through an actual, touchable book, but I’m just glad they publish it at all.  The best part?  It’s now a free PDF download.  The only cost is the time it takes to download – and depending on your connection speed can be a while.  Let me reassure you, however, that it’s well worth the wait.  Thank you, NFL!
